Ok slightly diffrent report of similar issues here.
First experienced GUI loss using 'EVE launcher' to run 4 clients.
After starting clients manually and 'windows' keying back to desktop to change clients the GUI problem seemed resolved.
BUT the clients run like snails. Even with graphics turned to mininum I suffer horendous control lag and dire FPS.
According to Task manager my processor isn't overtaxed though my commit charge looks unusually high.
Conclusion is I'd imagine the problem is some sort of memory problem running the new graphics under DX 9 |

Further update - while running multiple instances of 1 client my lagging problem resolved and I was able to restore my graphics settings although the dissapearing GUI problem returned. |

Can't say I suffer cursor resrtricion while ending task using task manager but it certainly does 'stall' my rig severly for a seemingly unusual amount of time (end task has never been particularly speedy in my experience) which might support my theory there is some kind of memory mismanagemant going on if windows is later finding it difficult to find and clear the present processes. |

This has been nearly a week now and given I run 4 clients it has cost me nearly 28 days paid playtime.
I'm not the only one with the problem and all who have seem to run at least 2 clients, So to my mind a lot of people are owed a refund from CCP for purchasing goods or services not of a usable standard otherwise CCP are making an awful lot of money out of us for nothing.
Of course I have no real delusions anyone will ever see any refund as the most likely CCP will hide behind there EULA and claim normal trading standards laws don't apply.
When will games company managers learn that as far as it's customers are concerned producing a update without major gameplay issues is more important then there corporate pride in keeping to some release date they pulled out of the blue. It does the company image and customer trust more harm then good in the long run.

Ok I'm going to publish what 'seems' ( 15 mins screen swapping in dock) to have worked for me.
Now the issue rermained after the patch and I was loath to do a reinstall (couldn't see the point unless it was a patching issue in the first place) but CCP's GM did put me onto the hidden cache folder that is installed on my windows.
Also note I am now running multiple instances of one client as this might be important.
So the Patch 'activation' method goes something like --
Clear your cache ( should you have trouble doing this because of lack of UI I would suggets 'EVE launcher' a free download that when provided with your client path will give you an out of game 'clear cache' option')
Open My Computer
Locate and check the radio button 'Tools- Folder options- view - advanced settings - show hidden files and folders'
then Navigate to
C:/Documents and Settings/*Your Username*/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP
Delete this whole folder ( don't worry EVE client will repopulate on restart)
Feel free to start your client and I hope you have some succsess, as I say this 'activation' method has had only limited testing so far but I'm usually able to recreate the bug fairly quickly and haven't been able to since clearing the 'hiddden' cache.
Good luck and feel free to let me know how you get on

Sorry to say deleting cache folder failed to solve my problems in the long run |

Nice one Paradox, I'm looking forward to getting my little fleet flying once again
Shame this has kind of marred the release of the update, after playing for a few hours ( single client ) last night got to say some of the QOL changes are quite slick. Cheers to everyone at CCP. |
